Chromebooks, Careers and Charisma at the Henry Street Settlement

Updated: Apr 18

On March 27th, students at the Henry Street Settlement in Lower Manhattan received free Chromebooks via our Device4All® program.

20 refurbished Chromebooks were purchased for Henry Street Settlement with funds raised by Madison Square Park Moms, a collaborative community of over 7000 parents supporting New York City neighbors in need. (In 2020, Madison Square Park Moms raised funds to purchase and distribute 195 computers to students at four New York City schools.

While the students were energized by the Chromebooks, we in turn were inspired by their focus, clarity and drive to pursue meaningful and relevant careers.

After unboxing their laptops, over pizza, several of the Henry Street Settlement students shared with us their excitement, aspirations, and in many cases, goals already achieved, as they work to secure jobs that will surely provide the stability and success they deserve.

Thank you to Madison Square Park Moms for your continued generous support for the Loyalty Foundation’s Device4All® program.

And thank you to everyone at Henry Street who coordinated and joined us for this memorable afternoon:

Connie Mendez: Senior Director of Employment Services

Erica Chung: Director of Partnerships and Public Policy

Kelly De La Torres: Workforce Development Program Director

Shana Walters: Youth Employment Coordinator

Deanna Sorge: Volunteer Program Manager
